Forms for our Someone Special Breakfast went home this week. They are due back by Thursday, March 28th! Extras are in the front office if you didn't receive one. Please note: if you have students in multiple grades to choose one of the dates and this is designed only for PES students.
This year our One School One Book is about Gobi, a little dog with a big heart who beat incredible odds to find his true home. Pickens Elementary's Leadership 101 Club sponsored a supply and food drive for the Pickens Humane Society in honor of Gobi. We are so excited to be delivering all of the goods to them this week!
Thank you to all who donated! #FindingGobi #pickenssparklers
A reminder that we will not have school this Friday, March 29th as it is a planned Inclement Weather day that we did not need. Next week is Spring Break on the SDPC calendar.
We look forward to seeing students back at school on Monday, April 8th!
We wanted to go ahead and let our K5 parents know to put this date on the calendar. Strawbridge will be here on Tuesday, April 16th to take Cap and Gown pictures of your Kindergarten student.
All students in Grades 3-5 are required to take the South Carolina College and Ready Assessment (SCReady). Students in 4th grade will also take SCReady in the area of Science. It is important to put these dates on your calendar so you don't make appointments these days.
Please note: During the tests, students are not allowed to have any electronic or other devices with them that can be used for communicating, timing, or imaging. These devices include, but are not limited to, cell phones, watches, pagers, beepers, blue tooth headphones/earbuds, stopwatches, electronic translators, hand-held devices, PDAs, or any electronic imaging or photographic devices. If a student brings one of the devices listed, the test administrator will take the device until the end of state testing.
It is not too early to start thinking about summer! If you are going to need childcare sign up now!
Students can drop off donations in the front lobby as they arrive at school. Our students and the Pickens County Humane Society appreciates your support!
Friday is the last day to order and guarantee you will get this year's yearbook! Must be purchased online. Code: YB28115

If your child qualifies to be tested, a letter has been sent home stating the specific testing dates as well as tips on how you can support your child.
We hope you have had a great first day of February. Just a reminder that PTO will have Hat Day tomorrow. Students can bring $1 and wear a hat at school all day. Please click on the link below for the PES Parent Newsletter for February.
