The schedule for seniors May 12th:
-8:00 AM- Students will travel to the feeder elementary school of their choice for a cap and gown parade. The parades will start at 8 AM, so students must arrive earlier to participate. The parades will take less than 10 minutes.
-8:45 AM- Students will travel to the feeder middle school program of their choice and complete a process similar to the elementary school. Punctuality will be stressed.
-9:30 AM- reconvene at PHS and begin on-site Class Day festivities.
We are so lucky to have Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Rogers here with us next year! Mrs. Richardson has served as assistant principal at both McKissick Elementary and East End Elementary. While at McKissick, she was named the 2016 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. "I am so excited to join the Pickens Elementary family! I look forward to meeting the students, staff, and parents in the days ahead." ~Anita Richardson Mrs. Rogers has spent the last four years as an Instructor at the Adult Learning Center. Prior to that she was a Special Education teacher at Pickens Elementary, TL Hannah High School and alternative placements. "I am thrilled to be back at Pickens Elementary as an Assistant Principal! I love this school, the staff, students and community. I look forward to being part of such a strong team, and serving the community that I love. Next week is our last date of screening for our 4K program for the 2023-2034 school year. Please contact Mrs. Fowler, Data Entry, at 864-397-2303 to make an appointment or if you have any questions.
In a couple of weeks, students in grades Third, Fourth and Fifth will be taking the SC Ready State Assessments. Please put these dates on your calendar and refrain from making any appointments or vacations on these dates. Your help in making sure your child has a positive outlook on these days is appreciated.
Mark your calendars! Specific times for each grade level will be posted next week! Invites will be sent home with those receiving an award.
*K5 and 5th Grade will be having their own graduations.

Friendship was the Lifeskill that we focused on this week. These students were chosen by their teachers as ones who show the ability to make and keep friends through mutual trust and caring.
Forms went home this week. If you did not get one contact your child's teacher or pick up one in the front office.
If you have students in multiple grades please choose ONE date to attend.

This week's Lifeskill is COURAGE. These students were chosen by their teachers as ones that act accordingly despite their fears.

Last Friday these students were recognized for the week's lifeskill of COOPERATION. They were named by their teachers as those that are willing to work together towards a common goal.

We are excited for Mrs. Hendricks on her new position at Hagood next year! We are sure going to miss her though!
