PACK families, the Scholastic Book Fair is rolling in to town next week at Liberty Primary School! Students will have a scheduled time to shop the book fair with their class - teachers will communicate their scheduled time in newsletters and on Schoology. You can send cash or put money on your child's E-wallet through the online Scholastic store. Find out more information or shop online here: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/libertyprimaryschool Thanks for encouraging a love of reading with your children and for supporting our school!

This just in: Ms. Elizabeth's 3K students explored acorns this morning! The students used fine motor skills to crack and peel the acorns, and sorted by size, shape, and feel. Ms. Elizabeth asked, "I wonder...?" to encourage the students' exploration. This autumn activity was highly engaging for our littlest learners at LPS! Want to recreate this at home for your kiddo? Collect some acorns in the yard or in town, throw in a muffin tin or other sorting bins, and start exploring!

This just in: This morning, we hosted our first Toddler Rock-n-Read of the school year! Parents and caregivers and their little ones joined Mrs. Sexton and Mrs. Davis for songs and activities focused on the alphabet! Families also went home with a book today. Thanks to everyone who came out- be sure to mark your calendars for our next Toddler Rock-n-Read on October 17.

Good morning from Liberty Primary School! At LPS, every student has a class job that helps them feel a sense of belonging as they work together to take care of the class family. One of the favorite jobs is Class Greeter! "Welcome to class! Would you like a handshake or a high five today?"

At Liberty Primary, we value working as a team to show our students the importance of literacy. Not only does our fabulous custodial staff ensure our Wolfpack has a clean learning environment, but they also enjoy reading with our students! Thanks to Ms. Morgan and Ms. Jennifer for reading with Ms. Dameron's class this morning!

This just in: our dedicated volunteers from First Baptist Church Norris are back this year, opening car doors and greeting students with a smile every Wednesday morning! This week, our Liberty area board member, Brad Dover, joined them as well! We appreciate all their help in making sure our students get into the building safely each morning!

We had a great Pre-K parent workshop yesterday! Thanks to Mr. Fludd (Family and Community Engagement Specialist) for providing families with structures to reinforce regular daily attendance at school, and to Mrs. Sexton (Reading Coach) for providing our families with strategies to help strengthen phonemic awareness skills at home!

Parents and caregivers of toddlers, join us for our first Toddler Rock-n-Read next Tuesday! And go ahead and mark your calendars through December!

Our Discovery Den opened its doors for business this week! At Liberty Primary, we value learning through play and know that the benefits of play are endless- language and vocabulary development, thinking and problem solving, creativity, career connection, collaboration and teamwork- all those “soft skills” that students need to have in order to be College and Career Ready and become successful citizens of our community. (Did you know? Our Discovery Den is part of a greater Liberty Area Schools initiative to expose students to careers at an early age and prepare them for career opportunities that they will have in elementary, middle, and high school!) Discovery Den is our students’ favorite part of the week… check out all the learning and problem solving that takes place in the Den, and find out more about play at LPS here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18B3PhvX_u9s9gywPfejYjQg-k9Wr78Py/view?usp=drivesdk
