Thomas Preisig has been named as the new principal of R.C. Edwards Middle School. This follows the departure of former principal, Jeff Duncan, as Duncan was previously announced as the new principal at Pickens High School.
Mr. Preisig has demonstrated excellent leadership at Easley High School over the past 7 years,” said Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck. “Thomas has earned the respect from students, teachers, parents, district leadership and board members. His work ethic and leadership will be obvious to everyone in the R.C. Edwards community very quickly.”
“I could not be more excited to be back at R.C. Edwards Middle!” said Preisig. “Having taught at Daniel High for nine years, I am very familiar with the Central, Clemson, and Six Mile communities. The opportunity to continue serving this diverse and unique community feels like coming home, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to rejoin the RCE family.”
Preisig is currently the Associate Principal at Easley High School, where he has served since 2014. Prior to serving at Easley High, Thomas was the Graduation Coach at R.C. Edwards Middle and D.W. Daniel High. He also taught at DWD from 2004-2013.
He holds a bachelor of arts degree in Secondary Education Social Studies and a masters degree in Administration and Supervision, both from Clemson University.
Mr. Preisig will take over at R.C. Edwards on Monday, August 23.
