Crowe, has served as Ambler Elementary’s food service manager since 2017. She earned praise for creative solutions to common cafeteria problems while helping students build character, assigning responsible 5th grade students to help younger children through the breakfast line and having each homeroom designate two students to clean their table and floor after lunch. In addition, her co-workers noticed her efforts to improve the culture of the cafeteria through decoration and special “dress up” events. In recommending Crowe for the award, AES assistant principal Betsy Kelley said, “Sandy is one of the kindest, hardest working people that you will ever meet. She comes early and stays late when needed. She always has a bright smile that can turn a bad day around for students and adults alike.”
