CheckOn May 18, SDPC held the 2017 STEM Celebration in partnership with Alliance Pickens.

The STEM Celebration highlights the achievements of our students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and serves as a fundraiser for our Career & Technology Center. This year, thanks to generous donation from the Pickens County business community, it raised $36,300 this year. Since the event first started several years ago, it has now raised a total of $110,660 for the CTC!

The event also features the announcement of the SDPC Scholar Technician® of the Year Award. Sponsored by Alliance Pickens, The Scholar Technician® of the Year Award honors technical competence in Pickens County high school students.  This year, the prize comes with a $500 “Career Starter Fund” from Alliance Pickens. The two runners-up for the award received Career Starter Funds of $250 each. The award went to Easley High School senior Freddy Juarez.
